"One of Those Rare Books Where I Felt Like, ‘I Need to Talk About This!’"

Ohh my goodness, our September Book Club pick got us talking! I first became interested in reading Culpability by Bruce Holsinger when I saw it at Blackbird Bookstore in San Francisco a few months ago. A story about a family who is in a self-driving car that crashes into, and kills, an older couple and the levels of culpability around the accident, I was so curious to see the way Holsinger addressed the ethics, convenience, wealth-implications, and of course, culpability around AI.

Earlier this week, I joined to chat about Culpability in an unedited Live, which ended up being a conversation about:

The surprising ways in which AI is woven into our lives
Ethics around using AI, especially as a therapist or “friend”
How Camille feels about AI, being the mom of a teenager
Who we would cast in the film!

There is so much more to go into so we’re hosting a Zoom this Tuesday, September 16th at 5 pm PST for paid readers! and I will both be there to chat about the book. I love these book club meetings—they always feel so casual and cozy, and are a great way to meet other readers! If you haven’t joined yet, we’d love to see you! You can RSVP using the link below:
