📺 ‘Jay Kelly,’ on Netflix: George Clooney stars in Noah Baumbach’s latest movie as a famous, aging actor who is forced to reckon with himself and his legacy. It’s prickly, funny, and unexpectedly tender.

📚 Cape Fever by Nadia Davids: In this new gothic, psychological thriller set in 1920s South Africa, a young woman takes a job as a maid. As the “dream job” takes a turn, the book becomes increasingly supernatural and secrets are revealed…

🎥 ‘Hamnet,’ in theaters: I couldn’t leave L.A. before catching a matinee of Chloé Zhao’s lush adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, Hamnet, starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley as Shakespeare and his wife Agnes, navigating the grief of losing their young son to the bubonic plague.

It’s true that no two days in the van are exactly the same, but over my last few months traveling primarily across the southwest, I’ve been able to settle into a loose rhythm that balances work, self-care, errands, and adventures. On a recent trip to Sedona, I filmed a fairly typical (but still extraordinary) day in the van, beginning with a sunrise hike and ending with an “imagination class.” You can watch the vlog below and read on for details, including:

  • A realistic look at a day living and working full-time in a van!

  • My grocery haul, and a simple weeknight meal

  • A misadventure involving a shower…

  • How I wind down for the evening
