I was surprised to see that some reviews have slammed it for its slow, highly stylized pace since that’s exactly what I loved so much about it.

🎧 Hailey Whitters’ Album, ‘Raised’: I love a female country musician who pushes the boundaries so when Hailey Whitter’s album came out last month, I immediately downloaded it for my transatlantic flight. The album is bookended by a tongue-in-cheek allusion to the phrase “when pigs fly,” that might be a reference to the decade-plus she spent in Nashville waiting for her songwriting break. Between, it’s full of hits that harken back to early 2000s country.
