This smoothie is so simple and largely inspired by nutritionist Kelly Leveque’s “Fab Four” concept of incorporating fiber, greens, protein, and fat into smoothies. I often make this when I exercise and have more than an hour until my next meal (of if I’m hungry for any reason between meals!). It helps tides me over and gives me a boost of energy, especially in the late afternoon when my energy tends to wane.
You will need:
1 handful berries (about 1/2 cup)
1 handful spinach or kale (about 1/2 cup)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I like this one)
1/4 cup walnuts or 1 tablespoon almond butter
How to make it:
Add ingredients to a blender (I use a magic bullet!), with enough filtered water to cover.
Blend until combined, then pour into your favorite cup and enjoy!
