Sunday Edition: Behind the Scenes of My Book Launch Week

The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.
This week—really, the last two weeks—have been extreme. I tried to search for a better word this morning, as I made breakfast and switched over the laundry (I’m finally back home!), but kept returning to “extreme” as an apt description of this week’s intensely high-highs, and the physical and emotional demands that came from supporting the launch of my novel, You’re Safe Here!
Since last weekend in New York, I’ve been in a different city every single day for readings and signings. As each event concluded, often with late nights with friends, I would snag a few hours of sleep, rush to the airport, fly to the next city, check into a hotel (or onto a friend’s couch), and do it again! It felt like I was in a relay race, except I was the baton, passed along from city to city by loving friends and generous readers, who made me feel so supported. Even if I didn’t have a moment to slow down, I truly had the time of my life this week. Sharing a few “behind the scenes” and favorite moments below from my book tour and a week I’ll never forget:
