The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.
The thing about committing to slowing down is that you can’t simply pull the parking brake and bring life to a screeching halt. This week was still packed to the gills, though I took some major steps towards releasing my foot off the gas: I had multiple meetings with professors about taking the year off (they unanimously agreed that it’s a good idea, given the circumstances, as many of you did in the comments), went for some long, slow runs in the crisp fall weather, and spent time envisioning what I want Morning Person to look like next year. This week marks two big steps toward that, with our Writing Club this week (I’ll be sending a Zoom link soon, to those of you who signed up), and our first in-person meetup, inspired by a reader (!).
I realize that adding in events may feel like the antithesis of slowing down, and I’ll admit it’s been a little hectic completely nuts, but it also feels like a reorientation toward community and in-person connection, two things I’ve been craving recently. Without further ado, below are a few photos and highlights from my week and a link to join me in L.A. the weekend of November 10th!
