Sunday Edition: Dispatch from Tahoe and Taking a Deep Breath
Plus a new favorite poem, natural electrolytes, and sheet pan dinner.
The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.
Quick check-in. How are we all feeling this week? Most of my conversations with friends have been around how much news to consume; how to strike the balance between being informed while staying sane. I’m not sure I’ve figured out that answer (although removing New York Times alerts off my phone and rarely checking social media helps), but this weekend, I took a deep breath, slammed my laptop shut, and went on a long-anticipated trip. My boyfriend (in case you missed it) and I headed to Reno to visit my parents since I spent the holidays in Portland, then we drove to Tahoe for a ski weekend with some of his best friends. It’s a quick trip—just three days—but has already felt so nourishing. As I write this, sitting next to the fireplace, I can hear chit-chat coming from dinner prep in the kitchen and catch-ups in the living room. A little pocket of peace in the midst of an otherwise chaotic week. Read on for photos and highlights from this week!
