Sunday Edition: I Can't Stop Making this Bitter Fall Salad
Heading west, at last!
The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.

Good morning, from a trailhead at Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona… which means I finally made it out of New Mexico! Don’t get me wrong: It isn’t that I didn’t like New Mexico, but closer to the opposite. My plans to stay for a few days turned into three weeks, as I kept extending my trip to spend time with old friends and new, in a part of the world I’ve come to love. I can see why so many people call New Mexico not only the “land of enchantment,” but the “land of entrapment.” Something about it pulls you in and keeps you there!

Even on my last day in Santa Fe, I had every intention of leaving at the crack of dawn, but then a chance meeting at a coffee shop led to another, until found myself sitting down to a late lunch with a new friend at Ozu, researching nearby campsites for that evening. I’m too much of a coast and forest girl to ever consider living fulltime in the high desert, but I’m so grateful to have a growing community in New Mexico I can always come back to. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Read on for:
My daily, 10-minute meditation practice
Three grocery store finds, including two matcha recommendations
Possibly the best bagel I’ve ever had on the west coast (seriously)
The only skincare product I use (and it happens to be 20% off)
My new favorite fall salad and our December book club selection!
