Sunday Edition: Why It's So Difficult to Rest (and How to Anyway)
Plus my no-buy pledge and favorite pizza. 🍕
The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.
This week was a total false spring as we enjoyed 60-degree weather in Portland (already back to 33 and encased in fog as I type this morning…). I filled my home with flowers, ate my favorite herby pizza and green goddess bowl (recipes below), and enjoyed a rare spell of sunny days, hiking most afternoons, biking, eating lunch outside, and leaving the window open to hear the wind chimes. I know it’s just a tease—it is, after all, early February—but I welcomed the respite…
And today’s the day! I’ll be online at 9 a.m., p.t. today to host a community conversation with the writer Jane Ratcliffe about our relationships with rest and why we struggle to prioritize it. Paid readers can register and get the link to join, below! Grab a mug of your favorite morning beverage and join us for a cozy, casual chat. This event has ended, but I’ve uploaded a clip of Jane and my conversation, before we opened up the conversation to the group! Thank you to everyone who came, and shared resources and stories!
