The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.
At the end of a yoga class this week, the instructor invited, “We have one more working pose, or you can head straight into Savasana.” I promptly unfolded my legs from Bridge, accepting her invitation to rest, even as most of the class pushed themselves into Wheel. It’s something that would have been unthinkable a year ago—I would always take the harder option, as if it was some kind of test. Today, I’m heading to a morning event then accepting my own invitation to rest—skipping football to take myself to a movie. I hope this serves as a reminder to do the same, if you need it. Casual hosting. This week, I hosted friends for two very casual gatherings and made a dal (which I got zero photos of, but was delicious) and a cauliflower bake from arguably my favorite cookbook. I added in some rotisserie chicken and made a few vegetable swaps based on what I had on hand, but it was delicious. Already excited for leftovers tonight.
