Sunday Edition: Taking Risks (with a Safety Tether)

It’s funny how, when I take the time to pause and reflect on my week (as ‘Sunday Edition’ creates the space for me to do), I can often identify a theme. And when I really look at it, there’s often a lesson to glean from it. This week, I put myself out there repeatedly. It began with this post (your comments have meant so much to me), then expanded into new social situations and new-to-me experiences—all from a place of safety and honoring my nervous system.
It felt akin to exploring outside as a kid all day, knowing I had a warm house and dinner to come home to. I’ve been thinking about how to create that more for myself—this sense of being free, but held, to explore and take risks.
