The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.

You know how they say there are certain years that really feel more like a decade? This week felt like at least a year. I barely recognize myself, from last Sunday to today, and am amazed by how much I grew in such a short period of time. A week ago, I dropped my boyfriend off at the airport in Denver. Finally, fully on my own, I drove back to Boulder, only to realize that the parking lot I’d planned on camping in felt a little unsafe. Already past dark, I drove around the city until I pulled over on a quiet block, full of doubt and unease. The next morning, I woke up before dawn and arrived at sunrise to a trail I’d done the week prior, craving something familiar. It was a small step that helped me feel more emboldened to begin putting myself in seriously challenging, novel situations all week long.

This morning's impromptu detour!

This morning, by contrast, I woke up in a pull-off near Idaho Springs after a full night’s rest and noticed that several cars had skis in their roof racks. I had planned to head straight to Breckenridge, and had no idea that any ski resort was open this early in the season, but made an impromptu detour and followed the line of cars to Keystone Resort, arriving with the first wave. As soon as I parked, the doubt began to creep in, but this time it was so much quieter. I threw on my boots, and headed to the gondola where I met two native Coloradans who I proceeded to spend the entire morning with (and am now on a group chat with, for future ski hangs!).

It felt, in so many ways, like kismet and a reminder of the beauty that comes when I let go and see where this adventure takes me. In looking back at my photos from the week, I almost can’t believe how much happened! Read on for tons of photos and updates, plus…
