The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.
I’m writing this at 5:15 AM on Saturday morning. My alarm doesn’t go off for another forty-five minutes, but I finally pulled myself out of bed after tossing and turning, churning with my initial tasks for the morning: Load fragile things like my monitor and valuables into the car, run them over to the house and unload, drive back, meet my friend and pick up the U-Haul, park and put up permit signs, greet the movers, drop Toast off at daycare as soon as it opens. Go get coffee! All before officially beginning the move day. After a week of getting through the start of the semester, my move, and book meetings, today is the final sprint. When I picked up my keys from my agent last night, she remarked, “Woah, you’re really calm.” And the strange this is that I do feel calm. This year has helped me understand just how capable I am of tackling seemingly unsurmountable tasks, and I feel grounded knowing that by the time you read this tomorrow morning, my move will be done. (9 PM update: I am done!) Below are a handful of photos and small moments from my week… okay, gotta go move! x
