A monthly edition of Morning Person, featuring the best moments, recipes, articles, and recommendations from the month. Let’s dive into some July highlights!

A California wedding, girls’ trips, quiet mornings, book club, hot yoga, fall colors, long walks with Toast, and coffee dates. This month felt like an extended reunion with all the things I love, after so much time away, and an opportunity to finally pump the breaks and slow down. The summer and extended travel was wonderful in its own way, but October felt like a homecoming in more ways than one. I was able to ground and center, and felt more like myself than I have in a long time, thanks in large part to beginning with a new therapist (!), prioritizing sleep, and starting a new creative routine of Morning Pages, in advance of our November 11th start date to go through The Artist’s Way together. Like you, I have a lot of feelings around the election on Tuesday, but I’m doubling down on practices that feed my soul and calm my anxiety—which I’ll share much more on soon! Until then, read on for highlights from October, including:

  • An invitation to a holiday book swap in Portland (!)

  • Photos from a girl’s weekend

  • My three favorite candles

  • Our Morning Person book club for November

  • Photos of WFH outfits I keep returning to
