Hi, hello and happy Friday!
It’s been a packed week, to say the least. In the thick of, well, everything, I started fall classes for the second year (!) of my Master’s program, shared my new apartment with you, and published my second-annual Fall Preview. Yesterday morning, I flew to Reno, Nevada to visit family for a long-overdue weekend trip. I am so ecstatically happy to be home, despite terrible air quality from nearby wildfires. My brother gets in this morning, so by the time you read this, we’ll likely be eating Truckee Bagel (a nostalgic favorite) and plotting out some indoor activities. As frustrated as I am to not be able to go on some of my favorite hikes, I’m trying to think of it as a much-needed, forced slowdown.
But let’s get to the reason you’re here: I’m thrilled to announce a new way to connect with me! Substack just launched Threads, a new private space in the Substack app to have conversations with me and each other.
Basically, it’s a group chat for Morning Person subscribers. I’ll be posting topics there a few times a week, with bonus topics including exclusive photos and content for paid subscribers, and would love to see you there! Here’s how to use it:
Download or update the free Substack app. (Right now, the iOS app is the only place you can join Threads.)
Tap on the Threads icon—it’s the second from the left and looks like a couple of chat bubbles (see below).
Make sure you’re subscribed to Morning Person, then reply to this week’s threads (paid readers will see one your “flight routine”)!
Come chat and see you Tuesday! x
Let's Chat! Introducing a New Way to Connect
Hey Leslie! I just discovered your newsletter and it's BEAUTIFUL. As a newbie to Substack, just wondering how you make yours so pretty with all the extras and the formatting that's above and beyond the basic. At this point, I'm totally starting out, but would even appreciate knowing big Substack secrets like... how to make the font red instead of black?! You gotta start somewhere, right? Thanks for any tips and keep up the good work!
