Morning Person is Now on Patreon (!)
Change is good. Repeat.
Five years ago (almost to the day!), I left my job creating content at a lifestyle brand to head back to grad school for my master’s in mental health counseling. In the week between my last day at that job and my first day of school, I launched Morning Person. At the time I was burned out on traditional lifestyle media and its business model, and felt like I couldn’t be the only one who craved genuine recommendations and honest stories from the women I followed online.
Morning Person was my answer to that; a creative outlet that, I hoped, would also help me pay for graduate school. As it turns out, it became so much more, a container where I navigated countless twists and turns, including my divorce, a complete reshaping of my identity and values, the publication of my first novel, home ownership... the list goes on. (The title of my first ever issue, “Say ‘Change is Good. Repeat.’” feels a bit auspicious in retrospect!).
You stuck with me through it all as this community grew from zero to over 50,000 readers.
And now, it’s time for another big change…
Morning Person is now on Patreon!
I know this may come as a surprise, but I’m really excited about this change, which has been a long time coming. I share a lot more about why I made this decision, and what it means for you and the future of Morning Person, over on my first post there.
As a thank you for your support, all subscribers are getting free access to Morning Person on Patreon! To claim that access, look out for an email from Patreon with a special link. It should be in your inbox within the next hour or two.
Accessing Morning Person on Patreon is easy—just click a link in your email, coming in the next few minutes!

Curious to dig in and read more about this change --- and a little disheartened to be honest as someone who was just charged yesterday for my Substack monthly subscription. Fully recognize this could just be the specific timing of my subscription renewing but it feels a little disingenuous to say that I am getting 2 "free" months on Patreon if I opt in!
Hello! What an exciting change. I wanted to clarify - for those who paid as founding members to this newsletter (I forget the exact phrasing!), are you granting 12m of access or will we continue to have access with no expiration?
