The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.
As many of you know by now, I took 2024 entirely off from my three-year masters program in mental health counseling and addictions. Between signing my divorce papers, settling into my house, and going on tour for my debut novel (!), I needed some time to breathe, and get myself organized, before diving into the final part of my program. Where the first two years were primarily organized around academic classes, the final two semesters involve a full-time internship where I see clients, and effectively function as a therapist, under lots of supervision. It’s the final step before I become an “associate,” the two-year process of accruing hours to become a fully licensed therapist! It is a process.

It’s bittersweet, but it’s also exactly what I need in this moment. I’m looking forward to finalizing last-minute house projects (like finally creating a proper guest room!) and myriad to-dos, brushing up on counseling, and doing a big meal-prep and grocery-shop, so I can head into my internship fully rested and ready. And, of course, I have some major plans for Morning Person, beginning early next year (!). I’ll see you back here on Christmas Eve! Until then, here are a few photos, recipes, and updates from this past week:
