The Sunday Edition is Tuesday’s little sister—off-the-cuff updates I’d bring up over a coffee catch-up with a friend.

This was among the most social weeks of my life—and I say that as a card-carrying extrovert and chronic over-scheduler. On the heels of a music festival in Seattle (during which I pulled an all-nighter to write this), I was already running on fumes by the time this week began. Still, I found myself invigorated through new discoveries and time with friends that kept me deeply rooted in appreciation, amid this week’s headlines.

A major benefit of a packed week is that I often find myself brimming with inspiration and recommendations that I get to pass on to you! Read on for:

  • The small-batch haircare line I’m newly obsessed with (I finally found a shampoo and conditioner that meets my criteria, after looking for months!)

  • I tried 10 different snacks for my car and found a clear winner

  • The Apple watch feature I discovered for accountability in my workouts

  • My new favorite restaurant and an updated guide to Portland, Oregon (including the map over 20,000 of you have downloaded)

  • Tons of photos from the week and other life updates…

Honestly, this probably could have been five different issues, but I got excited and had too many recs to keep them to myself!

Let myself get inspired. On Thursday, I met friends at Bardo, a gorgeous tea house in North Portland. After my friends left, I ended up chatting with the owner, Ravi, who used to be the Vice President of Smith’s tea production (!). He generously spent close to an hour explaining puer and oolong to me, as well as their proper preparations. While I felt too intimidated to begin my serious tea journey, I purchased two of their herbal blends, this hibiscus and and chamomile-ashwaganda blend, and left with a record recommendation. He had been playing an Hermanos Guttiérez vinyl, which I picked up on my way home from Music Millennium, a Portland institution from the ‘60s.

Listened to it at home while reading my friend Aja Gabel’s beautiful new upcoming book, Lightbreakers, out this November!
