How is it even possible that I’ve been on the road, living in my van, for a month?? In that time, I’ve driven thousands of miles and visited four national parks (sacred places that are in the process of being dismantled, unless we take action). I’ve met singular, fascinating people who were generous with their time and wisdom, and spent days alone in the forest, doing little besides hiking and reading. I skied down mountains, hiked to alpine lakes, climbed a frozen waterfall, met readers in Denver (!), and got to know residents of a tiny town in the Colorado mountains that felt like a secret. I’ve learned so much along the way, about my own capabilities and how to thrive in a home on wheels.
Over the weekend, I parked at my friend Betsy’s house in Taos (you may remember her from our Indonesia shenanigans last year!) where I’ve been taking some time to reset and recover, and spend some much-needed girl time! Read on for a packed issue that includes October highlights and:

I really had no idea how this current chapter of my life would be received. You’ve all stuck with me through some major life shifts, including going back to school to get my master’s in counseling, my divorce, and multiple moves. But moving into a van for a year? I was honestly prepared for a mass exodus, but instead was flooded with emails and comments in support; and was thrilled to learn that many of you also dream of going on a similar adventure! You especially loved the vlog of my first week, so I’m in the process of creating a Part 2!
Speaking off, I’m in the process of building something big that I’ll be launching alongside Morning Person and I would love your take as I create it! Hundreds of you have responded to my feedback form (thank you, thank you!), but I’m leaving it open for a few more days in case you’d like to contribute!
