This Immunity-Boosting Smoothie Tastes Like a Fancy Orange Julius
Packed with ginger, turmeric, and vitamin C. 💫
It isn’t often that I see something on Pinterest and immediately stop what I’m doing to go make it, but something about this orange-banana smoothie sounded so appealing, especially considering I’ve been fighting off a cold the past couple of days and it’s loaded with immunity-boosting ingredients like an orange, turmeric, ginger, and kale. Here, I made a few tweaks, like adding in kale and protein powder, to make it my own. Enjoy! It’s so good, I made it two days in a row.
You will need:
Greek yogurt, about 1/2 cup
1 orange
1 frozen banana
1 scoop high-quality vanilla protein powder (this is my favorite)
1 tablespoon almond butter (I prefer sprouted almond butter)
1 small knob fresh or frozen ginger (available at Trader Joe’s)
1 teaspoon ground turmeric (or a small, fresh knob with the skin removed!)
A few grinds black pepper
A few leaves of kale (optional, good with or without!)
Granola (optional, to top—I used this one!)
How to make it:
Throw it all in a blender and blitz until smooth! Add granola on top for a nice little crunch.
