This Hydrating Matcha Refresher is the Perfect Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

Matcha, meet kumquat. 🍵🤝🍊

I’ve been entirely off coffee for a few months now (*hold for applause*). It was a headache-inducing decision that I’ve stuck to only because it made such an enormous difference in healing my lifelong insomnia! That being said, I’m yet not entirely off of caffeine and still rely on the mellow energy matcha gives me. Every morning, I drink this protein-packed latte, and occasionally follow it up after lunch with this hydrating, coconut water-based refresher especially if I’ve done a sweaty workout earlier in the day and need to replenish. It’s just sweet enough, with a little kick from the sour, thanks to one of my favorite shrub brands that’s also delicious on its own in seltzer! I hope you love it! x

You will need:

1 teaspoon high-quality matcha
Splash of a shrub or ACV (I love Sideyard Shrubs’ kumquat flavor)
6 ounces coconut water, be sure to look for an organic option without added sugar
Splash of seltzer

How to make it:

  1. Add matcha to a small bowl and whisk with two ounces of warm water until completely dissolved.

  2. Fill a glass tumbler with ice, then add the shrub, coconut water, matcha, and seltzer, and stir to combine. (I used this round ice cube tray, and glasses similar to these.)
